It can be hard to find anything off centre in any HMV or Sanity stores. Red Eye Records and Leading Edge in Wynard are always good places to look for more obscure things. Both stores are pretty expensive, so I dont get mainstream stuff from them, but Ive found some real gems in them.

Leading Edge is really good for soundtracks.
