marriage, sacred writings and christianity (1 Viewer)

hey there, i have an assessment on marriage in christianity, and ive been having trouble finding information on it. The question is :

explain the significance of the sacred writings of christianity to the rite of passage of marriage

ive tried to look for information online but i cant find anything regarding the significance of sacred writings in the actual rite of marriage. everything that comes up is about what the bible says about married life or the value of marriage-- nothing about the significance of texts within the ritual
ive also looked in a few religion studies textbooks and cant find much there either.

does anyone have any ideas on where i might be able to find information? particular books perhaps?

to be honest, im not too sure if im even approaching the question in the right way - im guessing it wants me to write about what role christian texts play in the rite of marriage but im not sure if thats right...some help on intrepreting the question would also be greatly appreciated!
