I'm a current medical science student at UWS, and was wondering what gpa conversion is used for calculating the Gpa required for postgraduate degrees. At uws our Gpa is measured at a 7- point ascending scale. And the degree im after (master of audiology) says it requires a min. Of 3/4 on the website. Now, I can obviously convert it the easy way and say that I will need atleast 5.25 to get in. But do they calculate it in a different manner, Ie. Assigning D and HD s different numbers etc.? Really stuck on this.

Also, If any current or previous master of audiology or speech path even, students at maquarie could please share the Gpa they recieved an entry with, that will be great.

Help will be appreciated.

Can't help you on a masters front, but our GPA system is out of 4.
Pass(50 to 64)=2
Credit(65 to 74)=3
Distinction (75 to 84) and High Distinction(85+)=4

So your be fine converting on that scale, but yes, above 5.25 would be the equivalent.

Not sure if you'll find many students here, but you could also try the whirlpool forums as they generally cater to a wider group.

Best of luck :)

Hey just another question if you don't mind, so if I want to apply to macquarie, would MY distinction and high distinction be worth the same? Ie. Will they recalculate my GPA to suit their own system? :)
