can anyone tell me the specific types of materials which are used in modern transistors, currently i know that both p type and n type silicon are used, need to know every bit such as the plastic insulation and so on, it's for an assignment

also what are the properties which allowed those materials to be used in transistors

thanks in advance

well i did this topic last term n i seriously don't think u need to know about every single bit stuk onto a transistor like plastics... ummm yeh silicon is used to make transistors and is doped ith group 3 elements to form P type and group 5 for N type... if a plastic is used in transistors then its prolly coz of [yeah] their insulating properties?

thanks yea i confirmed with my teacher and she said we only talk about the main silicon and germanium as well as doping

also i had a search on google though it doesn't really provide much information
