mathematics in the hsc (1 Viewer)

i was home sick today and found myself listening to some AM radio station.. i think 2CH.. i dunno, anyways.. they were discussing the controversial 2003 2u maths paper and its so called extreme difficulty, and eventually stated..

mathematics in the hsc course, (i assume because of its difficulty, yet mediocre scaling?) is not worth doing... unless ofcourse your uni course demands it

what do yous reckon?

of course it's worth doing. it gets your mind working
some people are maths minded, so english is going to scale worse for them, and be harder.
they will take into account the level of the paper.

I've always thought that if you weren't doing something in the Maths field then it's not worth doing, because almost all of it is irrelevant to life outside the HSC.

yeah true that, year 10 provides u the maths needed for life.

Yep if your career doesn't revolve around it and once you get into uni it's not a pre-req for your course, then don't do it, yr 10 maths would help you live, while some uni courses rely on the maths you learn in yr 11 and 12, it really does help in some areas depending what course it is.

just like any other subject besides english, if you don't like it and arent good in it, don't do it. if particular courses in uni require it, chances are you wont like those courses anyway.

Maths 2 U,is considered a more Recogonised course in Unis,thus i do Maths 2 u,unless your fucking up big timemthen stick with General

theres nothing like skiiping the 2 unit exam and doing 4 unit maths instead
