at my school.. our maths is like really really crap.. and im doing 4U and theres only 5 people in our class.. and like 18 people doing ext1 and theres like 160 people in our whole grade.

sometimes i think that the assessments that they give us are like SIMPLE maths.. it really is... i always hear people say ' ohh i got like 75 or 50 in ext 1(prelim)' from North syd girls.. and when i did Ext1 (prelim) at my school, i always got like 80+ and i was 2nd in my grade last yr in Ext1 and 1st in mathematics..

somethimes i feel that when i do do the HSC or the trials or something.. its gonna be really really hard coz im not used to harder maths.. and that maybe i'll do really really badly and then i'll be totally stuffed.

our schools soo behind, we were still doin series and sequences in term 4 of last yr. and for Ext1 (HSC) we've only completed one topic.. and were on the geometric applications of calculus now.. we havent even done Logs!!!!!!!!!!!!! or e or ln or anything.. and like for Ext2 we're doing graphing now.. and we've done complex no. but we've skipped so much from these topics coz we havent done topics that we should have already done..

im just asking.. are there other people who feel that their school is really behind.. or is it just mine?

i just dont think that my school will ever even finish the Ext1 or mathematics course, theres like 12 topics in ext1 and we're done 1.5 topics and theres 2.5 terms to go!!

At my old school (an ordinary Catholic school) there were ~180 students, 19 did extension 1 (9 E4/band 6's) and 2 extension 2 (2 band 6's) and we were always given harder exams. I averaged probably 70% in my extension 1 exams and 50% in extension 2.

At my school we are so infront in the 2unit and 3unit course and also the 4unit course that we can have one term to do revision, as to having hard tests, we get pretty hard questions that we have never seen before in tests most people do pretty bad and a few do pretty good. 12 people in 2 unit, got 4 ppl in ext.1 and 2 in ext.2 and i'm one of them.

If you haven't already done so, you need to ask your maths teacher if you're going to finish the course in time, because you are a little behind in 2/3 unit. Our school is going alright in terms of time management, we're just working through further trig functions at the moment. In 4u, we're a little bit behind since we're still on curve sketching, should be starting conics or polynomials or integration soon.
