Hey Guys,

Just a quick maths question, i'm not sure how to go about working this question out, or what part of the course it comes from.

A(x-1)(x-2)+B(x-1)+C ≡ 2x^2 - 3x + 5

Find A, B and C.

Cheers!

It comes from the Quadratic Function topic.

1. Let x=1 to immediately acquire C.

2. Let x=2 to acquire B (after substituting the value of C).

3. Equate the leading coefficient and you immediately acquire A=2.

Haha easy, quadratic polynomials yr 11.
Expand lhs, factorise into brackets for x, x^2 etc and then compare coefficients.
