Ok so I'm a little rusty after the holidays and got this question but don't know what to do:
'The percentage of salt in 1L of water is 10%. 500mL of water is added. What percentage of salt is in the water now?'
Thank you!

Since there was 10% salt before, that means we can assume 100mL is salt.

We add 500mL so our total now becomes 1000mL + 500mL = 1500mL.

However, the amount of salt has not changed (we just added water!)

Thus the new percentage is 100/1500 = 1/15 ~ 6.67%

Let me guess you use maths in focus.
I received the same question, you have to use percentage increase.
Remember sold is soluble in water, but that's into chemistry.

1L = 10% salt
1500ml = x

1L = 10/1.5
x= 6.66666
