I've got a question, how do you know how to graph the inequality:

y > ln(x-1)

Like, how do you know that y is greater than the formula provided? I seriously am completely lost.

Can somebody explain how to do it and the logic behind it please.

The curve y=ln(x-1) divides the plane into 2 parts. The question is essentially asking you to find which half of the plane it lies in.

To do so, we'll test 1 random point that is CLEARLY on one side of the plane iee+1,10)

LHS = 10

RHS = ln(e+1-1)=ln(e)=1

Hence LHS > RHS (which satisfies the original question).

Hence the answer is the top half of the graph.
