i applied for a few jobs in my long holiday
- pizza hut , dominos , mcdonalds , sizzler

and all rejected me ( even mcdonalds !!! ) except sizzler ( cause my brother works there )

and recently mcdonalds called saying i got the job bla bla or interview . Since mcdonalds is really close to me i considered quitting sizzlers ( cause its quite far ) and going mcdonalds

Luckily i came to my senses and shoved that job ( mcdonalds ) up their asses ( brother told me to do that who is an ex mcdonalds worker)

im just asking ...
whats wrong with working at mcdonalds ????

honestly it's not that bad, everyone just seems to think it is, I used to as well
While the actual work sucks and customers can be annoyin, the social aspect is great
I met two of my closest friends there!!!

I wouldn't mind working at Macca's because I know if I work there, I'll never eat the stuff again.

lol Loz I've had that thought as well.

I need a new job and the maccas near me has been advertising for ages.... but I just don't think I could do it, not at my age.... I don't think I could stoop to that....

Its that kind of mentality that will get you nowhere.

Sorry to be blunt but it really annoys me.

Ms 12.... I have a background in food service and a fair bit of coffee making experience... I would much rather work in a cafe or restaurant. If I didn't have food experience then a job in a place like maccas would be the way to go.

However the main reason that I am participating in this thread is because I wanna know if Maccas is that bad... I have a negetive perception of it because of what I have heard.... also in Albury at Maccas you are immediately sacked when you turn 18 and a 14 year old is hired to replace you. You are also treated rudely. If it is the same in Sydney as it is in Albury then I wouldn't work there, but that's why I'm on here wondering about it and asking stuff on here. I'm actually going to get some info from them because I was wondering if you can get a job there just to work in the McCafe... does anyone know about that?

The fact is that I would only turn down/not go for a job if I can find something better.

I really wish I could get a Coles/Myer job though.....

there is actually nothing wrong with working at Maccas, i work at Maccas and i get paid $9:50 and hour (im 17), my best mates work there as well, and churning burgers is easy, and i work close so in dull moments me and my mates check out the chiks that come in (there are heaps of hot ones LOL)
the only drawback is the burns you get, but you get used to it after a while :)

I'm used to burns.... coffee machine steam wand burns, spilt coffee on hand scalds, bain marie heat lamp burns, hot pizza cheese burns (they are so painful!), hot dog steamer machine burns, frytol burns.....

Do you know how much a 19 year old would get paid at maccas?
