Today is the first time i am using my new lap-top computer. I started transfering my mp3's from the family pc via a usb memory stick to the lap-top. For some reason all music which i downloaded is not playing. Music from cd's is working but not downloaded mp3s. These downloaded mp3's worked on the other computer but are not working on the lap-top. Any suggestions?

if you downloaded it from a legitimate site. like itunes.

Then those files will have DRM which means they will only be able to be played on your computer and your ipod.

edit: DRM = Digital rights management

You could also transfer the licenses if you purchased the music. In Windows Media Player, select Tools-> Manage Licenses.
