Ok, I'm finishing yr 12 next year, and wanting to study medicine. (taking a year off first to work and travel etc) I really wanna study in melb, but at melb uni they have started a new program there and only taking undergrads into it in 08, postgrads in 09 and no one in 2010. new program thing starts 2011. where else in melb could i study? does anyone know more about the new program? any suggestions as to what i can do?

Study @ Monash/Apply and defer if you get a spot.
Or just go the long way @ melbourne - apply to a new generation degree, defer, study, then med.

^^Welcome to the world of med school. Haha, it's freaky thinking that a lot of people I know are exactly halfway through their degrees and will be graduating next year ! 2010? That will be my registration year. And my 21st. Gosh. Too far away to completely fathom.

Yeah, either apply to Monash and defer your spot (NEVER apply the year after you finish school, as it will only get harder and you'll be stressing during your gap year about what course you're gonna get into, and that's not my idea of a holiday), do the 3 years of undergrad at Melbourne, or go interstate.
