ok now i got ur attention
at the end of telophase 1 of Meiosis, or first cell division, does it result in two haploid daughter cells or two diploid daughter cells? Because the end result of overall meiosis is 4 haploids..

so what is it? 2 haploid cells or 2 diploid cells at the end of telophase 1?

If it's haploid, then the chromatids have to replicate don't they?

2 diploid cells.
If it was 2 haploid cells then we would of ended up with 4 daughter cells containing N/2 but in actual fact we end up with 1N
