Hay-all,

I have one of those Logitech microphone thingies, mostly used for chat. I was wondering if there was a program somewhere that I could get which would allow me to make a speech at an upcoming birthday, through that micophone attached to my laptop, which would be broadcast through the attached speakers in real time.

So, basically I dont want to recard a speech and play it back, I just want what I am saying at the birthday to be aplified via the microphone --> laptop --> speakers.

Cheers,
Ac

If you really want to do it that way (using your laptop), then you should be able to turn up the mic volume in the volume control panel, this is usually muted since it would play back anything that comes through the mic.

Generally speaking though a laptop wouldn't work very well as an amplifier...you might as well get a real amplifier for the job.

Hrmm, yeh. I found that microphone thing and un-muted it. I still hear nothing when I talk through the microphone.

Heres the thing, the microphone connects to the laptop via usb port, not the microphone input plug ... Any ideas?

In terms of an amplifier, how much would that cost. Im trying to be cheap here. What about those $25 mics you can buy in dick smith?

Cheers,
Ac
