A decade ago, Microsoft worried that the Internet could become a software platform that threatens Windows. Ten years later, that amorphous nightmare has a name: Google.

This is quite an interesting development. Bill gates has even scoffed at the internet being important in the past. Now Microsoft is playing catch up to google in web
application development.

Although I'm not sure why the article refers to Netscape as it never really had a plan to make revenue and thus died.
