Hey guys/gals, I hope this is the right forum.

Anyways, my contract for my sexy Samsung e700 is nearly up. Out of curiosity, how can I end the contract there and go onto prepaid?

On the topic, I am thinking of getting those really thin Motorola V3s, some people said that its actually more durable than your 3310 because of its unique metal structure or something, what do you guys think? Any other phones you'd recommend? I need something light and slick, not something buldging out of my pockets.

- Thanks alot :)

I believe you should just have to pay off the rest of the phone and your free of the contract.

The V3's only have limited memory. ie 5mb shared memory, so dont expect any music or cool videos. (and i dont see a flip phone EVER being more durable than a brick :p)

what sort of features you lookin at and how much are you willing to spend?

Main feature is that it has to be slim, I don't want something buldging out of my jeans with $25-$35 monthly contract.

I wanted first hand opinions from people who had owned it for several months. Don't making hasty assumptions that I haven't googled it.

What a wanker.

Hey demandred. I work at Telstra Shop Bankstown. lol. :p

Depending on which company your're with, you will need complete and fulfill all other contractual obligations before you can take on prepaid or another contract altogether. These obligations include staying on the plan for the required time and may also involve paying your handset off as well.

Telstra are doing a promotion (which was from Mother's Day) for a $20 phone plan for the motorola v3 *(whateva u call it)..
basically get $15 worth of included calls and $5 on data use. the phone is practically for free. (they make some of it back thru higher call rates)..

Motorola's are ok..yes they're durable but do come with manufacturing problems.,..i've had to send 5 back to the manufacturer already...

Just ask for Chris at Telstra Bankstown...i need to fill my sales quota up for this month...:p will be working this sat and sunday...ahaha

oh yea...and once u end the contract...u can port ur existing number to telstra (if u arent an existing telstra custiomer) ...

if u want prepaid then u just call or come to telstra shop and they'll end it for u and put u on prepaid...

the phone plan is locked for 24 months...

also note...all prepaids at telstra are locked..u need to pay $50 fee to unlock it...(unlocking it means u can use other sims that arent telstra)

3 sims do not work on telstra phones apparently..

Thanks a lot SS, atm i am just waiting for the contract to finish. What do you reckon of the Samsung D600? It seems its packed with features, but people reckon its too fragile.

I disagree.
The Samsung D series are solid.
Ive literally thrown my D500 across a backyand hit a fence, only to have the battery fall out and a few minor scratches.

It's actually a very very good phone in terms of specifications but I can't really comment on the durability of these things since I don't own one myself. It's on a $60 phone plan. Not cheap at all. :p

You need to know that powerful phones like the Samsung D600 are geared more towards the business person. That being said, nothing's stopping you from purchasing it.

Shit, just browsing at the Telstra intranet...
Bluetooth capabilities are really sexy...:p..u can print, and also listen to music on a headset via bluetooth...nice..

if u want the v3 on a plan like that
go to www.stop.com.au
i got my previous phone from there and its awesome.
u can keep ur exisiting number and get the v3 for $1 on a $29 plan.
You can choose either vodafone or optus as ur network.

the 7370 is also quite cool
im trying to decide between those two.
good luck.

If it is a compatible SIM then yes.

If your phone is locked, then SIM's from other networks will not work.
