hopefully someone can answer before tomorrows test ;o

i) a real estate agent gets a retainer of $500 a month plus 2% commission on the sales he makes. how much would he earn in a month when his sales totaled $250,000?

ii) anthony is paid a 17.5% of his normal salary as holiday loading for a 4 week's holiday. how much would he earn for 4 weeks if his normal salary is $550 per week?

Commission = 2% of $250000
= 0.02 x 250000
= $5000
.: Pay = 500 + 5000
= $5500

ii) anthony is paid a 17.5% of his normal salary as holiday loading for a 4 week's holiday. how much would he earn for 4 weeks if his normal salary is $550 per week?

Is this a trick question? I assume the 4 weeks we're thinking about are his 4 weeks' leave.

Holiday loading = 17.5% of 4 weeks pay
= 0.175 x 4 x 550
= $385
.: Pay = (4 x 550) + 385
= $2585
