Why doesnt the sound work in this game, speakers work for everything else, volume is turned up, i have gone into options and ensured that the sound is turned on in their (in other words done all the obvious things, its not like im a newbie to computers or gaming)

Could be any number of reasons - make sure the version of the game and your sound drivers are the most current, if you havent already exhausted the obvious things like looking in the options.

Awesome game though, I got hooked on that in a big way a couple of years ago. There are great mods for it if youve got it on PC.

Still nowhere near close to being as useless. You'd need something like "Maybe the sound is working, and your ears aren't!"
