I'm due to start some English essay soon comparing different representations of truths in the media. I have to pick out a news show on TV and a newspaper article and compare them, it won't be too bad to write but there are so many things I think I -could- do, I haven't picked a topic yet.

I wanted to do something on the US election, but that's pretty over now and not in the news much. Anyone have a good idea on some hard, breaking news story? Ta. :)

yeah i did this aswell. I used an article about the Children overboard thing, and how the governments stance changed from they threw children over board, to threathening to throw children over board, to they probably didn't throw children over board, to they didn't throw children over board.

But there are some many things you can pick from. You can use that ad that the government had of Latham and the L plates, my teacher suggested that one to me. You can discuss the fabrication of that, but it might not be that relevent come exam time.

If your looking for US election stuff, they was a thing on Mike Moores show, where he put in a plant for election. He did it becuase the guy had no competition and he was showing that a plant could do a better job then some of the current polies. Apart from being funny it showed how one sided the electrol system is, when the votes were being counted it was headed by a former republican member and they declined to count the plants votes despite the plant getting more then the guy. The tree was called Ficus and they had a whole campaign, it's a good watch if u can get a hold of it.

there are heaps of other stuff u can do, i'm just 2 lazy to think of any more at the moment.
