For soe reason my msn messenger wont work. I just recovered my computer from a really bad virus and its stopped some applications (internet explorer and msn/windows messenger" Wen i try 2 sign in it says "messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close we are sorry for the inconvenicence" I deleted and re installed msn messenger 7 but im gettin the same message. Ne1 help!

Is there any error code with the message?

and did you uninstall any plugins/add-ons as well before you reinstalled msn?

What version you using?

Nah theres no error code - i tried to fix it thru that but theres none

Its messenger 7

Nah i had msn 6 before i reinstalled 7, but yeah its all not working.

Do you have Plus! installed? If you do try uninstalling it first. YOu can also try deleting the folders that contain MSN and its profile folders too.

Hmm well the thing here is the reovery from the virus after which msn stopped working. What did you do to get rid of it?

But the virus might have corrupted Plus! settings and because PLus! affects Msn, although the virus has been removed the corrupt Plus! settings maybe stopping it from working

Yeah well as i said in my first post, uninstall ALL add-ons etc, then uninstall msn, the reinstall it with the latest version (7.0.813) avaliable from messenger.msn.com

I had anti spyware/virus programs but it didnt pick it up, so i had 2 manually delete it
