MUSC1503 help me out if you know about this course

So im planning on taking this course as an elective in second semester this year. But the problem is i have a clash with the lectures and i wont be able to go to the music lecture.

i have done the following in school:

clefs: bass treble alto
scales: major minor(harmonic melodic), blues
cadences
ornaments
four part harmonies


Would i still be able to get through this unit without attending lectures?
are the lecture notes uploaded somewhere?
did you find this unit easy/ hard in general?

PS i know how to read and write music, but i cant sightread

Aw man. DON'T tell the lecturer (Hindson), he'll go spare.

Clefs, good. Scales, cadences, good. What about intervals and triads? You'll get a lot of practice in tutes though, so yeah, you've got a good advantage already.

However: Can you get by without going to lectures: No. If you want to do this subject, why can't you not-go to your other lecture instead?? Technically you are required to attend 90% of the lectures. They didn't mark the roll this semester because there were too many of us, so instead, they made ~1% quizzes every week based directly on small elements from the lecture.

There are NO lecture notes.
You MAY be able to get a friend to give you lecture notes! Then you'll be fine. But you WILL need lecture notes, which you cannot get from official sources.

hmmm thats a bummer, i dont have any muso friends get notes off
and the other subject is an engineering one which i will def fail if i don't go to lectures. guess i'll have to wait till next year.
