yeah it was so hard doing it after english

the extended response was something like "compare the use of tone colour across the excerpt from memoir of a snail (kats-chernin) and two of your other set works from the core australian topic"

and then for the shorts there was some stuff on roles
the first question was the instrument (bassoon i think) and the note (F)

there was also the 5 marker on unity and variety in q3

thats about all i remember though

what does the music 2 paper entail? i saw someone say memoir of a snail was on it...

For our essay question, it provided us with a piece but no score (usually gives score) and required 2 mandatory pieces from us. This format of essay style has only been tested twice in the past 20 years. Cooked

FR like the questions were so specific?? and the melodic dictation was so long? and no score for the last question threw me ngl

I hated the essay question too it was like literally a nothing question. What do you mean discuss the use of tone colour like there's hardly any instruction

Swear that piece gave us nothing to write about for tone colour

it was cooked!! I hope it aligns well!! (I also have a vendetta against kats-chernin but that's super irrelevant she's just one of my least favourite Aussie composers ever!!)

also why weren't there any 20th century pieces

Pieces weren't bad for q1-3, hope we get better aligned mark to compensate for the difficulty of that paper

liked the first two, tokyo by night really angered me but only bc my class actually almost did that for my set works lol and didn't pick it because we hated it so much (so ended up doing smth else from paper planes)

it was just such a boring paper imo

but at least it isn't the new syllabus!!

First two pieces were nice agreed, glad we aren't doing new syllabus for music 2. Apparently teacher said it isn't the best

I don't know much about the syllabus itself, but I know someone who was involved in the protest against it for two main reasons:
- you could get through the Music 2 syllabus without ever reading a note of sheet music or performing a single time
- music 1 aural is like 3 hours now

At least we finished our HSC before these changes. New syllabus don't seem any good

Okay, about Paper 1, after seeing a bunch of people talking about it online- I realise I think it was a MY school issue that all of the audio mixing was terrible and we couldnt hear ANY of the vocals

... Im finding out there was a RAP VERSE in the 3% excerpt of Youngblood? wtf was wrong with my exams audio...
