..Multiple choice was hard

16. a) 4900
b) 1.3 * 10^21 Edit: I think I changed this into something like 2 * 10^5 or something, not too sure.. Double Edit: The original answer was right, fml
17. Wrote about a plum bob hanging (to determine interial/non-inertial FOR)
18. a) 760 light years
b) 2.4 * 10^10 seconds (I used 365.25 days in one year) Edit: This is the same as 760 years
19. a) 1.602 * 10^-16 N downwards
b) 5.9 * 10^-8 seconds (that was the projectile one)
20. I used induction cooktop, loudspeakers and a power drill Edit: This is the transformation question
21. a) X
b) 0.1176Nm downwards
c) 0.049 Wb (I know, it's meant to be Tesla, FML)
23. a) Left
b) 8.3A
c) Left (towards W1)
24. a) Band E
b) Band F, 0 -> 1.3kg
25. a) Opposite charges Edit: Since it was 2 marks, I added a qualitative analysis using F = qvBsin(theta)
b) 2.5 * 10^-2 Wb (yes yes Tesla fuck you)

And yeah Quanta was pretty straightforward
I want to know which ones I got wrong, thanks :)

P.S. I had enough time to write all my answers on the data sheet
Yeah, that was an easy exam.. Still managed to lose heaps of marks :(

Edit: I remember I changed one of my answers, I think it may have been 16 b)

isn't 16b) a bit too heavy for an asteroid?

You definately got the asteroid mass correct. I got like 1.something x 10 ^ 21 i KNOW that its right.

I forget alot of my answers, But which side did u put the rock on for the coil?

Sorry didnt see your answer, how did u get X by the way?

The magnetic field was in such a way that the X side would experience a force directed up
Hence, if you put a rock on it, it would cancel out that force and balance each other out
You then equate these forces for the next questions IIRC

Btw yay for asteroid

Was the current going to the right to y then around to x or vice versa?
Also did u point your fingers left as there was only a magnet of N, then those field lines go to south (which is left).

Yeah the magnet being by itself confused me.. I didn't really know where the South pole was
I assumed the South pole was on the other side of the coil, which is a safe assumption imo

b) 0.1176Nm downwards

how did you get this?

i use t=fd
t=0.04x9.8x0.10

mc- 10 B<<<< still not sure though
11-A judging by other ppl's discussion here
12-D

T = Fd
F = ma, so T = ma * d
m was 0.04, a was 9.8 and d was 0.3, not 0.1

I assumed there was no other magnet and the lines flowed from north to south on that one magnet, therefore only placing side X in a magnetic field. Worked out that x was going down and y went up as it was pivoting. blah blah blah.

:( wish i could see the paper damnit.

Lol but if it was the only magnet, the coil would not have been inside the magnetic field.. Is my thinking, I may be wrong :bomb:

How did you do 16b? I got something to the power of 16. Everything else of mine basically matches.

Btw what do you think you got raw?

no, unfortunately you cannot estimate answers in physics, it doesnt have to be realistic, its what they asked, which is all that matters.

i remember getting something like 1.3*10^21kg from kepler

All of your calculations look the same as mine. Except for your one where the coil was on the pivot. I found B to be 0.098T or something.
