My friend has a MASSIVE UAC problem.. need help!! (1 Viewer)

Ok, how do i start..... well.. me and my friend finished our diploma's are martin college and we applied at UAC for entry to the main round.... my friend had a distinction average and i had a high credit avarage .... my friend applied for UNSW commerce (93) and UTS business (89) and my course International business at MACQ (86.25)... and his last preference being eBusiness at MACQ (75.10)

i made it in my 3rd preferance being international businesss at MACQ and my friend made it in his LAST preference this being ebusiness at MACQ (75.10)

.... he put my course like 3rd and didnt even make it to that and he had so much more higher marks than me ..

and other friend who had similar marks than me.. made it to UTS business

... and this friend only made it to ebusiness at MACQ my friend who had higher marks than the whole college made it to his last pref and is GOING psycho at my college .. and his going to tell off UAC .... what should i advise him to do....??????? PLEASE HELP .. i feel so bad for my mate

Post up all your diploma marks, all his diploma marks, your UAI and his UAI.

Also tell us whether it was a 2-year diploma, or a Certificate IV, etc.

macquarie uni probably looks at your UAIs as well..
so you probably had a higher UAI than your friend

My marks - 13 Distinctions 7 credits and 2 passes

His marks - 21 disitinctions and 1 credit

We did our Advanced Diploma of Business management and International Business in 60weeks fast track
We didnt give UAC our UAI's and just based it on these results...

and even though we didnt give UAC our UAI's his was higher than mine 69 compared to my 42.25 ... so yeah..

as you can see my friend could of made it to any course i think...

His offer - eBusiness at MACQ - 75.10
MY OFFER - International Business at MACQ - 86.25

He should call up man. The admission centre guy I talked to was honestly very helpful, he gave me all the info I wanted as to how exactly they calculated my marks and everything.

Call up the uni (uts I guess?) tell them your problem, and they'll write up a ticket to the admissions centre to sort out your problem and answer all your questions

which admin centre you talking about? the one at MACQ or UAC?

I believe it was UAC because he knew my uni preferences, he knew all my marks and everything... I dunno if they give THAT much info to the uni's (or do they? )

I call up UTS. I explained to them that I was uncertain as to why exactly I did not make it into my course, and I gave them all my circumstances... they understood this (they've delt with many of these cases) and put in a ticket for me at UAC (i believe). This guy then called me up a little later on and explained to me everything that went on.

uac can f*ck things up ..

i said this before.
i also haf a friend dat applied to da same course as me..
we both had it as 1st pref (bbus/bcomp at uts)
i got in.. and he didnt..
he got into his 2nd pref (bbus at uts)
which was a course with a HIGHER uai

so as you can see from wat i know.. and from what little-rat-boi is saying..
it clearly shows some early signs of UAC and possibly the universities making a big big mistake somewhere down the track in their selection process..

this should make it to front cover SMH article !
someone should write a letter to dem.. exposing the dodgy system once and for all !!!!!!!!!!
