Same here. He's out for half the lesson doing something else. He has a monotonic voice that no-one can bear during a double period (yes, it's that bad!) and he is the head teacher.

if you dont understand somehting ask your teacher to explain, if you feel they arent teaching you properly go see the head teacher of the faculty to discuss the matter with them...or even your deputy principal...depends on how your particular the school hierarchy is, and their jobs.
That's my teacher. Read the above reply I made to lukey2, that's my complaint for him.

kulazzi, thats why i said or even the deputy principal,as i realised that the teacher may have been head teacher. if you feel its a problem go to talk to the deputy or even the principal. if you dont do anything about it, then you might always wonder whether you would have went better if ur teacher was better. there's nothing to lose if you talk to the principal, tell them you wish to remain anonymous, but you were worried about the situation.
I'm not actually dragging on how bad he is, it's just that I think he's a bit zonked out....and I really don't need to complain to the principal because I can transfer to the other class (I have a free on that line). But I'm not (don't ask why because I won't be able to answer that part of the statement!) :)

is it because you like who is in your class kulazzi? or the particular time you get frees now? oh well as long as you are happy with the decision you make :)
Yes, the first part is probably true. Even though our teacher speaks in a monotonous (sp?) tone, there are some girls in our class who lighten up the atmosphere which is a definitely a good thing! With the second question, I was figuring that out as well, if I'd changed, then I'd finish at 12 on Monday B instead of 1 but I'd finish at 1 on Thursday A instead of 12.

Yeah every lesson we had to just sit there summarising the book while the teacher sat in the staffroom eating.

I recommend getting a tutor to help out too. It could be the difference between a band 5 and 6, you never know. I needed one for Eco and Legal because my teacher didn't explain the concepts very well.

I was getting around band 5 in prelim, and for my first HSC assessment task (the exam) I got Band 4. But I think that's because I studied too much and too hard over the weekend .

Hey lukey2,

We don't summarise in class, we answer all the questions in the textbook (Business Studies in Action). I actrually think just summarising is pretty good. I learn most things that way, because I tend to just copy the answers for the questions from the textbook without actually reading through it.
When summarising, I look at the syllabus and read through that particular dotpoint in two or three textbooks, look for what I believe is most correct and then just go from there. Any concepts I don't understand, I just go to school and ask my teacher.
You might think that your teacher is being lazy, but he/she might believe that summarising is the best method, and if you don't talk to him/her about it, he/she will continue to think that its a good method because noone is telling him/her otherwise. Also, I cannot stress the importance of asking your teacher for help. If you don't ask, they will just assume that you understand everything. And they know a lot more than you think.
Also, to help with short answer questions, I suggest Leading Edge Business Studies Workbook.

Hope that helps.

I guess you could say that 90+ is Band 6, 80-89 is Band 5 etc.

My business studies teacher is so hopeless, when he does turn up to class all he ever does and argue with the skanks in my class, tells us to summarise the textbook and he gives us out sheets and stuff and tells us to summarise that too, but he never goes over any answers to questions, or goes in depth with anything, im finding it hard to get some of the concepts in my head and im struggling getting like 50 - 60% in my assessments and tests, im so dissappointed with teacher here, besides all that i find him a great teacher to get along with.....!
