I just got a letter from ANU, offering me a National Undergraduate Scholarship ($10,000 per year, plus travel expenses). Anyone else get one today?

Just looking for comrades.

I am doing an Arts degree--and a Science degree.
It's funny how whenever someone says "comrade" it's immediately assumed that they're a communist. Sadly, I'm a free-market capitalist, I just like the term.

I don't have a UAI, I'm from Queensland.

Yeah, Queensland bands suck.

Just so everyone knows, I'm an altruist and am easily exploited. Anyone want a bar fridge? :)

I wouldn't turn one down lol.

You planning on working to supplement money?

And out of interest what grounds was the scholarship you scored decided on?

University entrance score (whatever my UAI equivalent may be) and subject marks. There were 27 in total, a certain amount given out on a state-to-state basis and the rest given out nationally.

I don't really need to work. I will get YA+RA+$5,000 per semester. I might do a bit of tutoring, but nothing major. I'll probably just get some work whenever I want to upgrade my computer or upgrade someone else's. :)

Yep doesn't look like you need to work, good work scoring that.

If you're not talking about a significant other then yes you seem pretty generous.

Last year the min UAI was around 99.30-99.40, its awarded purely based on your UAI, each state's cut off are different coz they give out equal number of scholarship to each state.

Ok, well I'll take your word for it. I was told that my subject marks were taken into account, but you seem to know what you're talking about. Out of curiosity, how do you know this? Also, it would be impossible to tell what UAI the Queensland scholarship students had, as we're never told.

well, op1 is basically equalivent of 98+ (something like that) uai, i guess thats why they take your mark into consideration too, so they can rank people within the ranks :) remember that you are only competing against other qld applicants

i know a few people that got the scholarship in my college, well, the lowest i heard of from nsw were 99.30

Fair enough. OP 1=99+

Well, there must be somebody lurking in the BOS forums who has received an offer...

On a semi-related note, I applied for the regional scholarships (both arts and overall). Has anyone received an offer yet? I'm seriously hoping to pick one up.

Ok, I'm turning it down. Good luck and congratulations to the person who gets my place.
