Need a few tips on my essay coming up (1 Viewer)

I got an essay for Legal Studies on family law in 2 weeks.

The question is:
'Discuss the legal consequences and resposibilities of marriage in Australia'

I've already studied for this whole topic, but what areas of the topic should i include in my essay which will make me answer the question well?

Broad headings you might like to consider:

1) Consortium

2) Maintenance issues

3) Property Rights

4) Laws of Agency

5) Wills-the effect? (Family Provision Act 1982 (NSW)

Consequences and Resonsibilites may be divided into two separate answers. The way in which you approach the essay is determined by your opening paragraph.

just try to cover everything in your syllabus- remember your LCMD!

Yeah and in your introduction you might want to include that:

- Married couples have moral and legal obligations
- The legal obligations are most easily enforced once the marriage is over
- The law generally does not intervene in a marriage unless the law is broken e.g. a child is abused/neglected or domestic violence occurs

Santaslayer, I don't think that you would be able to wrangle a substantial amount of information about agency because it was abolished over a century ago now and you would only be able to cite one act anyway - Married Women's Property Act 1893

Personally, I'd include contracts with agency so you can talk about husband and wife in a marriage sueing each other as they are separate entities or talk about the obligation for both parents to maintain their children.

I know what a LCD is, but what's a LCMD?
