Hello,

I have an assessment that revolves around the concept of belonging that is due soon, but I can't decide which would be better suited for the topic:

The Hobbit - J.R.R Tolkien

The Freedom Writers (film)

The assessment will also consist of "Romulus, My Father" and "The Red Tree", and one of the outcomes says to compare and contrast the texts. So what do you think would be better to write about in a speech; The Hobbit, or Freedom Writers? Thanks.

Any help is appreciated.

It really depends upon your skill of analysis and which you would feel more comfortable doing. If you do the Hobbit you would need to closely pick out a few scenes and look for textual devices/detail. With the Freedom Writers if you were to do this you would also select 1 or 2 scenes maximum and detail techniques, camera movements, light, setting, colour, framing, angles, juxtaposition, etc.

If you are already doing Romulus as novel, I would probably recommend doing the Freedom Writers (film) as it allows for a greater diversity and will allow for a better contrast depending upon the themes within your other texts.

PS> OP change the profile pic/avator as yes it does look as though your banned.
