Hi. I have an essay due at the end of these 2 week holidays and i have no clue exactly what to do about it, cos of the fact that i dont really understand it. I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out. Thanks. The question is as follows.

What possibilities are there in the worlds of your prescribed text for genuine human relationshipsot relationships between humans and nature

In Brave New World, I don't think there's any chance, because societal needs don't call for it, i.e. reproduction, and in Bernard's case, it is possible, but never mutual?

In Blade Runner...hmm...I have no idea...u don't really learn much about human interaction, just replicant interaction...:S

The friendship between John the Savage and Watson seems genuine enough to me.

In terms of relationships between humans and nature (at least physical/environmental nature), there's the whole Savage Reservation in BNW where that can take place, though I suppose its not really an option for those born within the BNW society...

I guess you might also mention the places of exile for those with some glimmer of individuality... the islands or Iceland or wherever they get sent. Though you don't obviously get to see them, Mond's description of it (and maybe narrator's implications, I haven't checked) makes it seem like a place where human relationships can be more genuine, amongst people less affected by conditioning...
