1 hectare = 10000m2
.: 10000cm x 10000cm x 0.5
= 50 tonnes

My answer was up by a factor of 10:

1 hectare = 10,000m2 = 100m x 100m = 10,000cm x 10,000cm

1cm3=1ml

1000ml = 1L = 1Kg

1000kg = 1T

.'. Volume = 10,000cm x 10,000cm x 5mm
= 10,000cm x 10,000cm x 0.5cm
= 50 million cm3
= 50 million ml
= 50,000L
= 50,000kg
= 50T
