Have you ever been sitting at a way too trendy bar in Surry Hills when a wanky hipster starts discussing the latest downturn in the property market?

Don’t be stuck with nothing to say, the majority of us have smart phones, and more often the not our solution is found in our palm. If it has batteries.

While there are many applications (or apps) on your phone that can help you out in your everyday needs for information, the world of real estate is also at your fingertips, with many apps available to help you find properties, costs and further information about a market you’ve probably have thought about entering.

The problem with apps is that there are a lot of them, and so rather than wate your time trying out a heap of them, it’s best to just have a list of some useful apps on the market.

I'm simple- I just use the Domain and Realestate app. Given that most properties are cross listed anyway it doesn't make much difference although Domain has some nice sync-ing features to keep a shortlist/etc.

One of the best is the Craigslist app if you're merely looking for a place to stay. Often the rent is cheap and many people don't use the domain apps if they're privately renting or looking for a house/room mate.
