Has anyone got the Excel textbook? On page 9 where it talks of social and ethical issues for information systems, they put:

Unemployment
Job Deskilling
Loss of Power

What does 'Loss of Power' mean exactly? I'm not so sure.

E.g, a buisness is run and there is a manager who runs the place. a new system is implemented that does the managers job... the manager once had power like, creating deadlines, supervision... but now the system does that its similar to deskilling

Another social issue is the lack of human social contact

EG: not going out to shop / bank / post letters etc.

LOL... I always used (from memory) the unemployment/deskilling, copyright infringements/violations (lol) and privacy of data. These topics were always easy to discuss solutions to such as training programs, watchdogs/advocates and data security/authorisation matrix/access rights...

Try not to pick ethical issues which are too self explanatory and don't have much consequences/solutions to think about- because it limits your ability to answer the question fully; especially when it's a scenario where identifying the problems is only one part of the question (even if not specifically mentioned).
