I think most people are aware of the changes... I don't think anyone's making notes from the old syllabus, it's just that those notes are still up because they're still relevant.

Remember that a bit of the information on Amenhotep III (in the historical period) may be relevant to the society you're doing.

If you can't find any information of 200 years (Ahmose - Amenhotep III) of Egyptian history, something's very wrong... Especially condering the regard in which early New Kingdom Egypt is/was held and the huge amounts of evidence from the time.

Is there anything specific that you need help with? Have you looked through the syllabus to see what you haven't gone over.

Have you looked at the sample exam from the Board:

(a) Name TWO of Egypt’s neighbouring peoples.
(b) What was ma’at?
(c) Describe the leisure activities of New Kingdom Egyptians.
(d) Outline the religious role of the pharaoh during this period.
(e) With reference to Source 7 and other sources you have studied, explain the
impact of empire on New Kingdom Egyptian society.
Source 7: The Battle of Megiddo (Annals of Thutmose III)
(a)
- Kush,
- Naharin.
(b)
- Cosmic order,
- good vs evil,
- fitted into Egyptian philosophical beliefs,
- comes from goddesses' name,
- depicted with a feather.
(c)
- Games (senet, stick games),
- entertaining,
- outdoor (hunting, races),
- fishing,
- shopping.
(d)
- keeps ma'at:
kills foreigner, buildings, religion, military, etc.
(e)
- booty (slaves, money),
- continued tribute,
- expanding borders,
- taking mercenaries,
- rise of military class,
- increased foreign goods,
- different purpose of Pharaoh (as Warrior Pharaoh).
