Hey,
I was wondering if any of you guys have any idea what the cheapest, reliable, linux compatible wireless router is which I can run a home network off and connect to one computer via usb. I'm currently thinking of getting a Netgear DG834G. Also I've got solid brick walls and there's about two of them in the 20m between the computer with a wireless card and the modem, will this affect my signal at all?
Thanks,
Justin

www.ozcableguy.com

read the reviews there.
then compare your prices off harris technology - www.ht.com.au
and if you find a cheaper price, it's ok.

the router u mentioned, was one of the routers i put on my 'get if th e price is right' list

You should find that routers aren't OS specific, but the wireless network cards are.

In my opinion, the one you have been thinking about is the most suitable one

A word of advice; plug your router into a power surge protected electric socket - most routers contain really small power units that blow easily. I learnt this the hard way with a D-Link router a few weeks ago.

I just wish I'd bought my original modem from them, cause my Netcomm's a piece of shit and I'm gonna have to send it back for replacement next week.

^ Similarly, my experiences with Netgear have always been positive
