I'm a Class Of 2006 student and i had my first assesment yesterday is it normal for them to start so soon?

Firstly, welcome.

And yes, HSC assessments generally start Term 4 of your Prelim year. I've just had my first Maths assessment, I have another one next week with a Chem assessment, then English, and Physics to round the term off. It's the last year now and each assessment counts. Better for the assessments to start now instead of all being crammed into Term 3 next year, no?

Yeh, just look in your assessment booklet that the teacher should have given to you

Its typical to have at least completed a 10% assesment in every subject in term 4.

Assessments for me this term:
Week 8:
- English Area of Study essay examination (40 minutes)
- 2 Unit Mathematics short examination (70 minutes)
Week 9:
- Mathematics Extension 1 short examination (70 minutes)

All my science assessments and my Mathematics Extension 2 assessments will take place next term/year.

yeah i have assessments in most of my subjects to be done soon

~a minor work in art + 20 pgs of visual diary prep completed due in wk 9
~ ext eng 2 proposal due tomorrow
~ ancient hist essays+oral thing due in 2 weeks
~ adv. eng speech. frontline due..wk 9

blahness.

I guess it varies on what school you go to also, private ones if they finish the term early have their assessment period now onwards really.

Hehe i had a 2u maths assessment today, absolutely nailed it down in half an hour, very confident of getting 37/37 for it.

Im new to this, i can tell u yr12... da workload is hell lota work =.="
well i got assessments 4 all my subjects to:
*Bioloy prac + report write up due last fri (20% weighing)
*Pd/h/pe speech dis wk + pd/h/pe research task due nx wk (15%)
*Mathematics exam (1hr) (10%)
*SOR1 ISP (interest study project) due nx fri (10%)

Week 9 our assessment wk
*english essay (1hr) (15%)
*business study exam (1hr) (15%)
*MX1 (1hr) (10%)
*SOR1 essay (1hr) (20%)

Just cant wait til hols and haf r rest from all dis hardwork!!!!

I do 4 Unit Maths and I still have to do 2 unit assessment tasks, at least for this term anyway. It's a backup assessment in case we drop down to 3 unit. By next year, we won't be doing anymore 2 unit assessment tasks.

I do 4u, we don't do 2u assessments yet we will still do the half yearly exams, the more important ones

Hell yes. Similarly to trebla, we have to do everything as if we were doing 2/3 unit, as well as 4u of course, which can be hectic as i just had 2 and 3 assessments on consecutive days last week and got a 4u assessment tomorrow. I wanna pass it. *crosses fingers*
