Hello

Just failed in my attempt to transfer to engineering/commerce (UNSW) from straight engineering,

My UAI (Non 2005 HSC) was 81 and the Start of year commerce UAI was 95.0.

Assuming the NRSL is 92 or 91 ..? (or whatever)..

According to Frigids' stickied post above, since they take half UAI and half GPA, it be totally pointless to try again to transfer at the end of year rounds (with the 06 hsc cohort) ?
Since I would need a GPA 'selection rank; of over 100..?

Feeling a bit hard done by here, have a friend with a lower wam/gpa (in arts..) (but admittedly a 90.x uai) who this morning managed to get into combined arts/comm from straight arts

Im stuck with an 81 uai but a distinction _engineering_ wam / high credit gpa and unable to go through.
Is it worth my 41$ (or whatever they raise it to) to attempt again at the end of year? - considering, even if i HD every subject I take this year, my Gpa will not signifcantly increase) ?

Thanks for reading, SM.

I was going for the same thing - Eng to eng/comm I applied for mid-year entry and got in; just received my letter yesterday... and I had a lacklustre GPA (around low credit) and an 89 UAI so I doubt it would be more than an 89 overall. So I'm sure if you have a shot.
Also as a side note, has anyone done summer courses for commerce at Usyd and had them credited toward their degree?? I asked the commerce people at UNSW but they seemed uninterested in helping me...

Hey, congrats on your transfer

Cheers, so we can conclude this years nrsl was at most 90ish
GPA will probably drop after this session so I won't bother considering reapplying till session 2's results are out.

Thanks, sorry can't help about the summer credits

Yup. Just do a search for the 'cross-institutional study' pages on your uni website.
