You should post this in the Information Processes and Technology forum next time, so I would view it, among with others (I didn't see this thread until I went through "new posts")

IPT forum

Also the search button is very handy on this forum, second button from the right, located in the top right-hand corner of your window :)

Threads that will interest you:

Quick questions about normalisation
http://www.boredofstudies.org/community/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16290&highlight=normalisation

1NF and DKNF
http://www.boredofstudies.org/community/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14106&highlight=normalisation

That should answer most of your questions.

But you will not need to know the degrees or levels of normalisation such as 1NF, 2NF, 3NF or DKNF.

Just understand normalisation as the removal of redundant data, contained within a relational database, removing duplicate data spread or distributed across multiple tables, or data within the same field(s).

:)
