Hi Guys,
I was just wondering how you all take notes in school and stuff? And how you organise them to study all the content covered or make them into notes for exams at the end of the year? Because currently my system is:
- Write notes onto Loose Leaf Paper and put into binder
- Transfer onto laptop into one-note at the end of the day
- Read all notes aloud and transfer them into sections
- Reorganise them into Syllabus notes.
ALthough the method seemed ok at first it's extremley time consuming and I'm not getting out a proportional amount of information. What system do you guys do? Is it effective? Or should I stick to my system??

If it is not an effective system for you, change it-It is important to be critical about your notes-don't just summarise them-think very deeply about what is relevant to the syllabus and what is not-and you don't need to do the reorganisation step-you can go straight into making syllabus notes-this selective process is very important-furthermore, you need to test your notes-i.e. learn it and try answering past exam questions-if you can't answer much questions, then you would know your notes need further revision. Have you considered recording your notes?

I directly type my notes up (yes i bring my laptop to school) according to syllabus dot points.
for me, it's not about having short and concise notes. it's about having notes that cover EVERYTHING. before exam time, I print out notes and highlight everything relevant and to be memorised. everything else I only read over. (so you get the benefit that you get from having short notes as well, if you know what i mean)

I type my notes up whenever I have time (something I regret not doing last term) and then when it comes to revising I write out some parts of the notes a maximum of three times and I can remember it off by heart.

As for subjects like maths I tend to skim through the past exercises to ensure that I've nailed the theory and know how to apply it when it comes to an array of questions and then I do past papers.

My notes were just in dot point form (most of them) and I just memorized that for exam time
