Does anyone know whether those old style cigarette holders women had have a special name? I really need one for a 21st party outfit, but cant find one on eBay, but I dont know whether thats because there arent any, or whether its because they are called something special.

The ones I'm talking about are those long stick-looking things, and the cigarette sat right at the end. They were around in... I dont know.. maybe the 20's or earlier...

Any help would be great! :D

Do you mean like the one Rose used during the scene of the first meal on the Titanic?

As far as I can see, they're known as cigarette holder

If you're not looking for the REAL deal, I got one from a show I did recently (it's plastic, and looks real. If you can be majorly bothered you can probably jam a real cigarette onto the end... and maybe be able to smoke it...?). Never ended up using it myself, but got one. I assume it was from some sort of costume store.

If you can't manage to get one (or hire one - ABC costumes, there's also one in Gordon), you're more than welcome to borrow mine (I need to buy the BBA books off Skittled, anyway...).

Yeah Jess, those are the ones.

Ta Glitter, I might just take you up on that offer, but I'll check out good ol' eBay, and look at tobacconists. Hopefully they have kinda cheap ones, not just nice ones to be engraved as I dont smoke!

maryjane - i went to a 1920s-themed 21st and i bought a cheap plastic cigarette holder for like $2. i saw the same one on ebay going for $3 and $5 postage :p

there's also a nicer, more expensive one at the costume shop i got it from - it's on the corner of liverpool and sussex st, in the city. ummm... it's right next to regal chinese restaurant and you need to go up heaps of stairs :p lots of stuff in there though!
