Hey guys, how advisable is it to buy an older edition of the textbook for the subjects? At the textbookexchange site I ve only seen those older editions like 2003 or 2005-6. The only other option is to buy a brand new one from the co-op cause as I ve seen on the text list there are only 2008 editions recommended. I know authors usually just change a bit the book often to get more money, but would it be smart to get a previous edition? Are those usually useful for the course and do the lecturers accept them? They are 50% cheaper.

just e-mail lecturer/tutor, they will tell u whether other editions are okay, but be warned, any references given in class will prolly be for the new edition, so you'll have to find page #'s yourself
