i thought section 1 was shocking hard.
last 2 qs were very tough.

essay qs is also tricky with "compare" bit.

its quite a hard paper for ESL.

I totally misunderstood the writting topic in section one!!!

Very sad. Anyone can talk about the meaning of the question?
What do they mean "introduction"? I wrote a story about myself.
So how much I can get out of 8???
Sad!!!!!!

i agree with you ae, the essay is bit tricky, but it was alright tho, the 2nd last question of setion 2 was alright too, but the last question of section 1 is hard... i don't even what it is asking for, all i did was explain the different types of journey and implementing the texts provided as an examples of the types of jouney.

and of course i realated back to the scenario, the Australian Journeys

The prolem I think!

In the section 1, the writting issue.
I think they didn't give a very clear idea about what to write about.
I thought they just asked us to "introduce" ourself's journey to the resource collection with the theme of the 3 texts I have, and I did so.
But a lot of my mates said that they wanted us to write a thing like summary of the 3 articles they gave us before.
When I heard that, totally no idea.------8 marks!!
The question says like this:
"g) You are writting an INTRODUCTION for a collection of resources called Australian Journeys"
In your introduction, compare the Australian journeys depicted in the text one, two and three.
Any discussion?

I thought the question was asking us to introduce how different journeys you can take in Australia. and this is evidenced bu the text 1, text 2 and text 3. The introduction about journeys u can make in Australia.....?

cuz we needed to COMPARE the texts.. and this is about journey..so i wrote about wat types of physical journeys and where u can experience them and a bit of rhetorical questions.. (i think)

Hehe

Hehe, I 've heard a lot of different idea.
Also, some tell me that we should write a prologue to the Australian Journey.
Totally no idea!~~
Hopefully, the question can be asked more directly next year!

i guess there many ways to intepret this qs, i hope the markers take dis into consideration.

it's ok!

undefinedundefinedundefinedit's ok for paper 1. esp the essay part. i even can't believe that the question is near the same like trial's one. but i think the section 1, 6 marks and 8 marks questions a little bit confused...overall it is not bad on the first day!

hey guys, not doing esl, but judging from the question I would say that you had to write exactly what it asks eg.

Australian Journeys can take on many forms. One can travel through the sky on a hot air baloon, on a train agains the plains and deserts etc.
Then you would have had to refer to the three texts briefly, comparing how each journey is different.

Oh!

that 8 marks question!

and the essay ..

after seeing all the posts

it makes me worry lol

i thought that question required us to write

an introduction paragraph and compare (was it ?)

the ideas of journeys in each texts

i interpreted that as something like magazine or

an collection of resources for library (as it says)

hm.....
