Ok, I've only ever known casual hours - ie once in a blue moon is my type of shift work.

I was wondering what defines a part time job? How many hours can you do in a week and what is the usual (for some ppl) shift work? eg 4 days a week? etc.....

long story short I'm applying for a receptionist job in town and there are two - ones casual (ergh) and the other is part time....I'm terrified part time is litterally half days every day....to a degree I can do that but I know that they'l ask if I can work mon-wed mornings, and thurs-fri evenings....which inconveniently is the times I'm at TAFE! (I think I'm paranoid!)

ps> I'm applying for both, but was just curious about the hours etc for part time...

thank you!

Part time can be up to and less than 38hours in any given week.

There is NO 'set' hours for what can be considered part time.
