I'd like to pay part of my HECS upfront for the discount, but have no idea when this has to be done by. I've heard that the census date is the 31st of March, and if this is the census date which we have to pay upfront by, that leaves me a little strapped for time (is it just me, or does the same uni that charged us for a full year of union fees seem amazingly relaxed regarding HECS? I've heard no mention about it since I started, and the website doesn't give clear cut information). Does anyone know how HECS goes, when/if i'll get a statement and when/where I have to give an upfront payment?

Thanks

Oh. Thanks for the reminder :D

I have on my calander that it's due tommorow, whether or not that's true I don't know, it was done a couple of months back :p

You pay it at the student office, bottom floor of carslaw, where the big lineup will be tommorow.....

it's true... if u wish to make a partial payment for this sem, it has to be done before 31st march (2mrw)

upfront payment greater than 500 bucks (as i heard) attract a 20% discount

You only get the discount on the amount you pay upfront.

So if I already owe them $12,000+ 3rd yr; ~$6000 [total $18000), i can pay them 75% of $18000 to be free of HECS debt?

Or did you mean that if I already owe $12000, then I cant get the 25% discount anymore? (so only 25% discount off the $6000)
A) Isn't it only 20% now? B) You will get a discount of 15% on voluntary payments.
