password protect rar files? (1 Viewer)

i am trying to put a password on a rar file, but i dont know if its working.

after creating the archive, i open it, and select password (ctrl + p), i set a password, close the archive. reopen it and it doesnt promp me as i open the file (yes, i run the file and it doesnt prompt me.)

Make sure when you're setting the password, to tick "NTFS options: save file security" under Advanced tab

where is the advanced tab?

When you make your archive, it should present you with the General tab from the picture under.
