2 Quick questions if anyone could answer thatd be great

1. With CSP courses such as Commerce/Law and USYD the UAC book says the 'student contribution' is $8,333 per year. Does this mean the student pays $8,333 up front each year and the balance from that and the actual cost of the course is paid back by them once their income reaches a certain amount or does the student not pay any up front and once their incomes reaches that amount they only need to pay back $8,333 for every year of their degree

2. With a DFEE of $20,080; is this paid at the start of every year/semester? Surely it wouldn't be paid up front for all years of the degree (100k+) and what if you are paying 20080 a year for 2 years but u run out of money..... and don't have a high enough UAI to transfer to CSP?

Thanks

1. With CSP, you pay nothing upfront unless you want to. The amount listed next to the course is deferred to your HECS debt, which you pay back once you start earning.
2. You can get a HELP loan for full fees, which operates on the same repayment basis as HECS loans. However, it costs you 20% extra on top of the original fees, and there's a limit on the amount you can defer. If later on in your course you've deferred the maximum amount, don't have enough money to pay the fees and can't get into a CSP place, the uni will probably refuse enrolment for that year. (You might be able to get other sorts of financial assistance, though.)

So with the 2nd question: Do you pay the 20080 of DFEE at the start of every year/semester or is it all upfront

Start of every year or semester, I'm not sure. Probably semester, because they can't actually charge you until they know exactly what units you're studying, and that doesn't get locked in until a month into each semester.
