for around 1000 u can buy a pda with mobile phone, that has email and everything. when u buy it u dont have a server do you? how do they work? if it has GPRS/Bluetooth and stuff how does it connect to the net?

if you get a server like optus for the mobile phone part, will that allow u to use the net whereevr u are on the pda?
so basically how do u get internet access and mobile usage on a pda.

i'm not sure how well email works in australia. I think you will have to connect the server to download emails rather than emails getting sent to you like in the blackberrys.

but internet access works through GPRS, EDGE etc. the same way a normal mobile works. It it pretty expensive. That is, it is charged per byte.

GPRS was charged per KB last time I checked. But in comparison with fixed internet, it is pretty expensive.
