I've got the UNSW Faculty of engineering uindergraduate prospectus 2005 and its got photonics advertised on teh front. But its not in the actual thing ?

not in the actual thing as in, in the booklet?

would be better to look at the actualy photonics website if there is one......

there isn't that many people doing that course

Ah ok. Why would they advertise it on teh undergraduate booklet. At least if they mentioned something about it being postgrad...but no.

So lets say a did a combined Sci/Eng degree. All it would take as full time student is another year and i could have a master of science and tech. of photonics and optoelectronics.

Do you have to keep up some sort of D average or something in order to apply ?

Also...i remember readign somewhere that UAI for photonics is only like 82. Umm does that mean when you actually start doing the masters degree, some 4 years after ur hsc, all you would need was an 82 UAI back then and its all set ?

There is a photonics engineering degree for undergraduate in unsw... look under electrical engineering (including photonics)... yes the cut-off are very low and people who are high-UAI-Cut-off-orientated will not know bout this course.

Ah yeah you're right it's under Elec :)

it says its substantially similar to Elec just with its own set of topics or whateva u call them. Pity they couldnt devote an actual page to it....but i went to that site Minai pointed out and its all about post-grad.....ppl enlighten me , and ill keep searching
