what text books do you think are the best for year 12 for physics and chemistry?

i think it's pathways thats sposed to be alright

Surfing Chemistry for practicing questions.

Conquering/Contexts are best for learning the theory.

For Physics, I'd say Jacaranda is by far the best, and use the Surfing Physics for question practice.

ok, i have like 50 million (well, not really)
i use:
chemistry contexts 2
conquering chemistry
excel
excel revise chemistry core in a month
some little chemistry flash card thingies
and two other really ancient ones that are just about chemistry, it doesnt follow the syllabus
oh, and my teacher printed us all off this like 200 pages thing, i dunno where she got it from tho.

yep, i dont read thru them all at once, i just read thru the bit that im doing at that time, or any bits that i have trouble with.

I'd say if you base your entire study on excel it would be difficult to gain a mark in the 80's.

Maybe its just be but i hate it.

And yes, as babydoll_ said, Success One is great. I used that for my medical physics exam doing the CSSA paper. I don't even have a clue how MRI's work and i just slapped down a prepared response that i memorised and ended up with a 23/25 for my option topic

just get as many book as u can, even jacaranda leaves out stuff thats in the syllabus

Thats only because it was specifically written for last years syllabus...
Almost every bit of detail is covered in the Jacaranda...
I would highly recommend it to any physics student!

Physics; the best books would be a combination of jacaranda, excel and another 'textbook'(to make sure a certain problem/query).
the greatest help are past papers, as mentioned success one is one of the best, but many papers can be obtained.
obviously a strong collection of notes/summaries helps when you make your own notes, which is very very crucial

actually even before last years changes some stuff arent covered very well... longman covers q2q much better than jacaranda imo, i hav a combination of macmillan, longman, jacaranda, and crazyguy's syllabus summary( or whateva its called, sumfin thats sold 2 teachers who r making a profit out of us lol)

But of course you never want to be summarising before an exam. you should be doing past papers!!

As said successone owns all. sifn't 23/25 for my medical phyics and all i did was memorise responses
