I have to get information on "Voltage supplied and the need for transformers in some appliances" in relation to Australian household circuits. Does anyone know any websites that can help, ive looked through my physics textbook but it isn't entirely helping.

Look at a HSC physics textbook, you'll find your answers there in motors and generators.
