Ask the hairdresser what would look good on you and then get them to do it. Or just ask them to surprise you. (NB only ask this if you're sure you're at a fairly mainstream establishment or you may not like what you get).

No....

this does NOT work. It often results in a very school boy haircut. Nooo.. no one do this.

Tried that once at a mainstream establishment. Ended up with hair that was long on one side and short on the other. Does not look good at all on a guy.

hahaha

i've gone the 'surprise' route once, it worked out pretty well. maybe my hairdresser was just boring or scared I'd crack the shits if I didn't like it, though. because it was basically my usual hair cut only shorter and more layers.

it only really works with girls because they usually go to the same hairdresser all the time, so the hairdresser gets to know the person and get an idea of their style.

i did it before. i got one of those incredibly awesome haircuts that requires absolutely nothing in order to look good.

you know, the ones that make bed hair look hot.
